BSNL Broadband - Solving Huawei Modem/Router problems

If you live in Bangalore and you live in some street which is in the center of town yet lies in the black hole of broadband-less zone then you have no option to rely on crap BSNL to get a Broadband (sic) Internet connection.

BSNL used to be the Public Sector UNIT (PSU) before it was sold to Tata. Ownership has changed but not the way of functioning, it still continues to work in same way. After all you can't straighten dog's tail can you? "Kutte ki punch kabhi sidhi nahi hoti"

Well even if you manage to get BSNL broadband connection by hook or crook (Begging to them, bribing linesman, putting gun on their temple or whatever manner) it is guaranteed that it is not going to work smoothly.

You will never find a single person having a BSNL Broadband connection which has not given any trouble.

Most of the time problem is with the Modem/Router which BSNL forces to use, provided telephone lines are working properly.

I'm not going to rant about BSNL problems, their crap customer services or any other aspect as it is pointless, I'll describe some of common steps to try to make your broadband working, after all we humans always find a way out of any difficulties and that is how we are still walking on the Earth.

BSNL uses Huawei devices, or rather forces people to use it, they supply it with their connection. Problem with Huawei is that this company is run by Chinese Military Men and they have gained quite substantial foothold in India. They have bribed BSNL people to use their crap, rubbish and useless devices. No one in this whole world uses Huawei modem until n unless forced by service providers.

Huawei modem/routers are completely rubbish.

If your Internet connection is dropping frequently then try following remedies

1) Check your connections are proper (Ethernet/Splitter/Main Line etc)
2) If you are connecting any parallel lines (telephone or other devices) then disconnect them and just keep single connection to modem
3) Sometimes Modem/Router get heated, for that make sure that it is not near the wall
4) Remove dust if your modem/router is dirty
5) If you are on LAN then disconnect all LAN cables and just keep a single PC/server and try to work out on that
6) The last place to mess up with is the Modem/Router Configuration
For this go to BSNL website download their troubleshooting guide and try to configure your Modem/Router as per those instructions.
Here is the link for Bangalore

If none of above works then get a Kalashnikov (47 will do) go to your nearest BSNL office point it on any boss there and ask to send a Technical Person to be deputed to your place to solve the bloody problem.

You can also try to burn Huwaei modem/router in front of BSNL office and purchase any other Modem/Router as per your choice.

Try Linksys/D-Link etc.
